Barrymore Drive Reserve April 28, 2018

On April 28th during a cold and rainy morning, the Lower Mainland Green Team braved the weather and tackled Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy at Barrymore Drive Reserve.

 

This activity was made possible by the City of Delta and Cougar Creek Streamkeepers – thank you Kevin and Deborah!

Highlights:

  • 10 of us contributed 20 hours
  • We ate yummy homemade banana bread and had hot chocolate! 
  • One of our volunteers, Brian, rode his bicycle all the way from Burnaby
  • We removed 4 cubic metres of Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy from an area measuring 400 square metres
  • We removed over 50 pounds of garbage, including gargoyle statues, hardware tools, and ceramic pots
