Ruth Johnson Park May 6, 2018

On May 6th, during a warm and sunny morning, the Lower Mainland Green Team tackled Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy at Ruth Johnson Park in White Rock.

 

This activity was made possible by the City of White Rock – thank you Scott, Vania as well as White Rock Mayor and Council!

Highlights:

  • 9 of us contributed 27 hours
  • We ate yummy homemade chocolate chip cookies (thank you Kim!!)
  • One of our volunteers, Brian, rode his bicycle all the way from Burnaby
  • Bill and Sam are regulars walkers of Ruth Johnson Park and were so happy to contribute to its well being
  • 5 trees were rescued from English Ivy strangling them!
  • We removed 5 cubic metres of Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy from an area measuring 100 square metres
