Highlights

  • In total, 25 volunteers participated and contributed 79 volunteer hours.
  • 11 volunteers had never been Uplands Park before, while 24 had never removed Carpet Burweed before!
  • We removed 4 cubic metres of invasive plants from an area measuring approximately 200 square metres
  • Join us at the Camas Day (volunteer party) on March 3!

What people shared about their experience

We made a huge impact on the invasive in the areas we were working in, lots of motivated people can do a lot of good in a short amount of time. I think we had a community impact as well, in helping create a relationship with the land and even in informing curious park patrons about invasive plants they didn’t know about.

This program is excellent on two fronts: creating a sense of community and environmental stewardship.
