Murray Pond Park February 22, 2020

The Greater Victoria Green Team organized a big broom and blackberry removal activity in Murray Pond Park, Colwood! Together close to 30 volunteers removed over 30 cubic metres of invasive plants from this area!

Highlights

  • In total, 29 volunteers participated and contributed 70 volunteer hours.
  • 21 volunteers had never been to Murray Pond before, while 9 had never removed blackberry before!
  • We removed 30 cubic metres of invasive plants from an area measuring approximately 200 square metres!

What people shared about their experience

The sense of accomplishment was great as all of us worked together to remove such an incredibly large amount of plants. Beautiful day, nice people, and common goal and lots to learn for my kids.

I was a pleasure to contribute to the community. Everyone was very enthusiastic.
