Ocean View Park May 1st, 2021

On Saturday, May 1st the Greater Victoria Green Team gathered at Ocean View Park to engage in a covid-safe outdoor activity removing invasive plants. We spent the day under a glorious blue sky, quietly enjoying each others company with intermittent conversation. Together our 13 volunteers removed 8 cubic metres of English Ivy, Holly, Daphne & Himalayan Blackberry. It was a wonderful way to kick off our 2021 season and we’re so incredibly grateful for the City of Colwood for providing us with this opportunity.

THANK YOU

Thank you to the City of Colwood for continuing to support and contribute to GVGT programs and for facilitating this incredible opportunity for community members to get into nature and connect with the land and each other!

Participant Quotes

Thank goodness we’re back up and running – I really missed spending my weekends with all of you!

Every time an event was postponed I was so disappointed. When this one wasn’t I breathed a sigh of relief.

I’m really thankful for these programs – It’s been a long 4 months. I missed giving back to my community and the land in this way.
