Simryn@GreenTeamsCanada.ca

Simryn is passionate about fostering connections between people, their local ecosystems, and each other, through hands-on, place-based environmental action. She looks forward to building relationships within the community while supporting projects that restore and protect the natural spaces we all depend on during her time as Program Assistant.

Her interest in ecological restoration began with riparian zone management, where she learned about the importance of maintaining healthy streams to support salmon migration and resilient ecosystems. She is especially passionate about working with native plants and values traditional ecological knowledge, recognizing both as vital to supporting biodiversity, strengthening climate resilience, and ensuring our stewardship practices honour the lands that they take place on

In her free time Simryn enjoys cycling, hanging with her dog, and discovering new coffee shops. She is grateful to have grown up and reside as an uninvited guest on the traditional unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
