Sara loves working with people and helping them discover their own connection to nature, often with the help of a few fun tree facts along the way. With a background in urban forestry and community engagement, she is especially interested in how shared experiences in green spaces can build stewardship, belonging, and care for local environments.
She holds a Bachelor of Urban Forestry with a minor in Landscape and Recreation Planning from the University of British Columbia and has experience delivering environmental education programs, coordinating community events, and leading hands-on outreach through roles with Parks Canada and UBC Farm. Sara also brings a research background in urban ecology, including fieldwork on bat activity in urban environments. As the Greater Victoria Green Team Program Manager, Sara is excited to support community-led environmental action and create welcoming, accessible opportunities for people to get involved outdoors.
In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, snowboarding, and practicing yoga.
