The Greater Victoria Green Team organized a community engagement activity at Anderson Hill Park in Oak Bay. We removed about 10 cubic metres of invasive plants like English Ivy, Daphne and Blackberry from the understory of the Garry Oak habitat! This will help bring back a diversity of native plants!
Thank-you to everyone for participating: Adil, Andre, Barbara, Brendan, Connie, Dasol, Evelyn, Frances, Jacqui, Kit, Michael, Sally, Samuel, Simon, Steve, Surya, Terra, Timothy and Val!
Thank you very much to the District of Oak Bay Community Grants for partly funding this activity and others Green Team activities in your municipality! Thanks to The Victoria Foundation and Canada Post Foundation for contributing as well! Your support made it all possible.
Thank you to our in-kind sponsors for providing thank-you gifts to our volunteers: LUSH for providing natural perfume, West Coast Seeds, and dog poop bags from Earth Rated!! Granola bars were donated by the awesome Nature’s Path

What people said about their experience
Green Team makes a big impact on invasive species removal from natural areas.
Pleasant weather; being under the tree canopy and the introduction by the park lady Christine. Nice to get out and feel like I have done something productive.
