Lund Road Restoration Area October 27, 2019

The Greater Victoria Green Team and Volunteer View Royal organized a blackberry removal activity in the Lund Road Restoration Area. We managed to remove over 6 cubic metres of invasive blackberry including digging up big root crowns!

Highlights

  • In total, 11 volunteers participated and contributed 30 volunteer hours!
  • We removed 6 cubic metres of invasive blackberry from an area measuring about 100 square metres!
  • We introduced 6 volunteers to the park!
  • We introduced 4 volunteers to removing Himalayan Blackberry!
  • 5 volunteers came from View Royal, 3 from Langford and 3 from Victoria!
  • 2 volunteers just moved to town (welcome Em and Marty!) and came out to meet new people while helping the environment!
