15 volunteers braved the cold on a drizzly Saturday with the Lower Mainland Green Team to remove 12 cubic meters of English ivy, Periwinkle, and laurel from Coquitlam River Park, and plant 15 Douglas fir trees!

Highlights:
- 15 volunteers contributed 42 hours
- 4 volunteers had never been to Coquitlam River Park before
- 2 volunteers had never planted native species before
- 2 volunteers had never removed invasive plants before
- We removed 12 cubic meters of English Ivy, laurel, and periwinkle from over 300 square meters of park land!
- 10 trees were saved from the grips of ivy!
- Many volunteers used public transit and car sharing, thanks for reducing our ecological footprint!
- Brian rode his bike from North Burnaby!
- Volunteers received vegetable seeds from West Coast Seeds and bath oil bars from LUSH
- Our volunteers joined us from Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, Langley and Delta
