The Greater Victoria Green Team coordinated the first of many more GVGT volunteer activities in Mystic Vale. In total 29 volunteers came together to remove a ton of English Ivy (approx. 8 cubic metres in total) from this habitat located at the University of Victoria.

Highlights
- 29 GVGT volunteers were engaged and contributed 112 volunteer hours
- 21 of the volunteers had never been to Mystic Vale Woods before
- 21 of the volunteers had never removed English Ivy before
- We revitalized an area measuring approx. 250 square metres!
- We removed approx. 8 cubic metres of English Ivy from the site (which involved carrying good sized loads up the ravine and stairs – great workout for all of us!)
- A group of volunteers from UVic’s annual Project Serve came to participate! They had awesome Volunteer t-shirts and brought lots of energy and passion!
- Volunteers were from all over the world – Isreal, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Korea to name a few!
